Notes

Tuesday 19th Jan .Notts County v Forest Green Rovers
FA Cup 3rd Round. All thoughts go with the team and the few hundred now able to make the journey. Sadly unable to drive or get back in time by train or coach, all one and many can do is listen to BBC Radio Glos..(that’s if some rugby match isn’t on!!!)
So nervous. It’s like the Champs league Final in Moscow all over again!
Can you believe..Last Non league (Conference) side left in the FA Cup away to ambitious County and nobody even knows where we are in the country! A sumptuous 4th Round tie at home to Wigan for the victors! Roy of The Rovers or what…..we can but dream?

Well even if you were a lifelong Chelsea fan- born a stone’s throw from the Bridge -I promise if you lived here among the hills-sheep-green wellied yoghurt-weaving football poets-artists-4X4s- farmers-rugby playing- horse-riding- aromatherapists -anarchistic writers-royalty and celebs …(read Sade, Dom Jolly, Jilly Cooper, Ann Robinson, Sting, Hugh Grant, Llewellyn Bowen, Richard Scudamore(and possibly Marilyn Monroe, Elvis, Clark Gable and Leonardo Da Vinci?) …then you’d understand what it feels like.

And we’ve still got stand up terracing on two sides with beautiful hills and much bigger than you imagined (if you read Wind In The Willows) badgers all around. Superstore look-alike all-seater over-priced stadiums eat your hearts out! Come on Rovers!
