Watching Defeats in the Rain

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 We didn’t once contemplate failure,
Our confidence seemed very high.
We took our positions at Dalyer
With one eye cast up to the sky.
At the end of it all we were sighing,
Our red hearts enveloped in pain,
But sure nobody knows you are crying
When you’re watching defeats in the rain.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Our goal took a long, long time coming,
We needed the roll of the ball.
But when Glenn tapped in, we were humming,
‘Bout Bohs going to win absolutely nothing .
But our marking was unedifying,
Again and again and again,
But sure nobody knows you are crying
When you’re watching defeats in the rain.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 And the Des Kelly stand
Looked so dry and so grand,
And we heard the odd curse
As the weather got worse.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 The frees and the corners came bending,
Their big men came up from the back.
We railed at our woeful defending
That handed them joy in attack.
By the end of the night they were flying,
While we showed some traces of strain,
But sure nobody knows you are crying
When you’re watching defeats in the rain.
