1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Red and white bunting
Three lions on football shirts
England baseball caps.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Pub is packed solid
The landlord dressed as Saint George
I can’t see the screen.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 The whole pub erupts
England player must have scored
I’m drenched in lager.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Opposition score
The pub goes very quiet
Ingerland starts up.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Went to the toilet
Attractive girl has my seat
Of course I don’t mind.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Then Ingerland score
Landlord waving plastic sword
Pub erupts again.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 The ref blows whistle
Up go cries of vindaloo
Hug attractive girl.

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 Leave pub exhausted
My mate’s nicked the landlords sword
Now he thinks he’s Zorro.

9 Leave a comment on verse 9 0 Hear myself saying
“I’m watching next game at home”
Who am I kidding ?

10 Leave a comment on verse 10 0 Next game in the pub
The landlord Saint George again
But without his sword !

Notes

Whenever I hear Vindaloo being played, it reminds me of the World Cup when it first came out. It is probably my favourite World Cup song, and the pub I mentioned really got into this song then.
It has just re-opened again, so may well take in a game there. It got really packed for the England games, but you were lucky to see anything, still the atmosphere makes up for it !
