Wayne’s Whirled

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I’ve whirled away in ecstasy
So many times
Arms aloft and mobbed
Inspired so many rhymes

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 I’ve whirled away in sheer delight
Every time we’ve scored
Usually been the fulcrum
The reason the crowd’s roared

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Now I’m whirling away…
From a club going down the pan
And the reason that I’m doing it…
Is just because I can!

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Is it all about the money
Or a far loftier ambition?
Or is it to move on and up, before…
I’m out of condition?!

Notes

Inspiration?
Obviously the breaking news that Wayne Rooney wishes to leave Man Utd, much to Fergie’s disgust.

And also, thanks to work sponsoring a lunchtime quiz week, I got to see a film poster of the Mike Myer’s classic, which triggered the title & poem!

22nd October 2010
and what does he do today?

What’s the betting the next time he scores, he’ll dutifully kiss the badge!! ?? !!
