WC 2006 : Day 06

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Well so far, nobody looks unbeatable, including Brazil
Germany, with home advantage and a dodgy defence, all set to thrill
Italy, Holland, Portugal and Spain
All look comfortable and capable enough to reign
The bouncing Czechs, also look strong
But too many injuries, means they wont last too long
The Africans, naïve yet nascent and keen to impress
But a lack of experience, they cannot address
I wonder, from where will the winners be found?
Will the trophy be South American bound?
Brazil? I fear Ronaldo would have to be leaner –
So, big shout for Argentina!

Notes

Wednesday 14th June 2006

Spain 4 0 Ukraine
Tunisia 2 2 Saudi Arabia
Germany 1 0 Poland

So now everyone has played their first matches.
Poland are almost out of the competition – barring an unlikely sequence of results :
Costa Rica have to beat Ecuador, then Poland beat Costa Rica and Germany beat Ecuador
AND then it would be dependent on goal difference
