WC2010 : Day 3

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Seedorf sees all

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 “Well the Germans are Germans”
So Clarence opines
As we marvel at the way
They breach enemy lines

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 This time they’ve gone for youth
And a non-Aryan composition
As usual they look strong
Contenders for the competition

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 And so it’s not just us
Who fear their advances
They fly out of the blocks
And draw admiring glances

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 ~~~ * ~~~

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Cunning plan

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 The Socceroos
Have a mighty plan up their sleeves

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 Feign ineptitude
So that no-one suspects or believes

9 Leave a comment on verse 9 0 Then come out fighting
And win two matches on the bounce

10 Leave a comment on verse 10 0 Boxing clever
Ghana and Serbia they will trounce

11 Leave a comment on verse 11 0 Not a whisper
No sign of ability and certainly no clues

12 Leave a comment on verse 12 0 And if it all comes off
It’ll be known as the Soccer ruse!

Notes

Cunning plan : no, I’m not Baldrick!

Re Battle of the Box:

BBC had the pick of the pundits 4 years ago with Leonardo.
They’ve done it again, Clarence Seedorf has it all – presence and prescience.

I’m really not sure about Colin Murray though. I’d much prefer Dan Walker as frontman.

Sunday 14th June

Group C:
Slovenia 1 Algeria 0

Group D
Germany 4 Australia 0
Ghana 1 Serbia 0
