We Could Be Heroes

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 With the phantom of the opera
In command at the back
We ride out an onslaught
To get dreams back on track.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Joey Cole looks like a new man
With instruction to go out and ….play
Unshackled from a doubled up full back
In a system where such skill was a waste.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Joey wasn’t sure if he toed in the leveller
Who cares? As long it stands
As the camera zoomed in on an ecstatic Roman emperor
Cheering and clapping his hands

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Ricky ended up with a golf ball
There on the side of his nut
But sees off the hurting to answer the call
No way was he gonna come off.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 That exquiste Cole pass gliding over the grass
Pinpointed to just need a touch
From a bang in form striker who acts like he might
Sometimes look like he’s doing his nut.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 What can we say of the DiD man
Who lead us alone from the front?
As he cracked in the winner
We sat eating our dinner
Which was dumped on the ground
When we jumped!

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 For this one supporter
A slice of humble pie’s in order
After the way that I’ve slated me team.

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 But after great nights like this
All of that’s in the wind
As we’re right back on track with a win!

Notes

Yep. I ‘ve gotta put me hands up and say well done to the boys for giving it a real go at the Mestalla last night. As all about me said we were gonna get meullered, I thought we’d get maybe a draw at best.

After a terrific performance like that when everybody involved was a hero and actually looked like they were enjoying their football again, me and me team are re-united in the common cause to play the game with a bit of style, excitement and real entertainment thrown in, and long may it continue whoever’s in charge!

peace
