Weight of Expectation

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 A bad defeat, they’re baying for blood,
Reputations dragged right through the mud
They don’t much care who they upset
They are the “Fans”, the ultimate threat
Some of them just want Rico Out
Agendas rife, without a doubt
Calm down lads, relax the bodies
Yes, performances were shoddy
And certain players must take a look
Questions asked, no gobbledygook

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 We understand all your frustration,
Players may lack our dedication
We’re all depressed, upset by that
Leave out a roar and kick the cat
Especially when City take a whopping
Can embarrass when we are out shopping
We require some level of dedication
And at least some beads of perspiration
But don’t act like a man possessed
Cos we got beaten way out west

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Come on lads please be realistic
Don’t be irate or polytheistic
To the club twould be a massive cost
To change the gaffer just cos we lost?
Not being too hard on these young pups
Cos all they want is Leagues and Cups
But next time City take a beating
Some of these please try completing
Just count to 10, procrastination
Or lessen your weight of expectation

Notes

What was hoped to be a walk in the park away to an injury ravaged Sligo turned into a 4-1 drubbing. On cue the usual suspects dust down the old “Rico Out” record and play for anyone who’ll listen. Relax Lads.
