We’ll be playing Forest Green one day

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 It’s looking grim for my team now
as we bottled it at Ashton Gate
my nerves are really shattered
and I bet I look a right old state.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Our manager said we look tired
not as much as we are mate
we pay a lot of money each game
to watch a team that’s never great.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Saying you were tired is an excuse
when really you just played poor
because in any other profession
you would no doubt be shown the door.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 So we could end up in the Third Division
or League One as it likes to be known
so instead of Leeds or Leicester
we could be playing Walsall at home.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 One day we could drop further down
in the division called the Blue Square
it could be Coventry playing Forest Green
now I wonder if Crispin would be there ?

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 I hope that never happens though
no offence but I don’t want to go there
but in football you get what you deserve
so the Sky Blues could end up in the Blue Square !

We were terrible at Ashton Gate and never turned up as usual and the manager blamed it on tiredness which hasn’t gone down well with the near on three thousand travelling fans.
I wonder where else you could get away with using that as an explanation when you’ve under performed ?
Can you imagine a Surgeon saying sorry to a patient when he only did half an operation or a Bricklayer only building half a wall ?
Because playing well for one half of a game won’t win matches will it ?
I’ll end now as I’m tired !
Editor Note: Whilst we do hope you stay up Kev…it could be sooner than you think .FGR are on the move and the only way is up (or Glos) ! The late season form here will hopefully be turned into promotion chasing form next season at the New Lawn.
