2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 people in their thousands
heading towards wembley
as if all roads lead there
each and everyone eager not to miss
the arsenal encounter with dynamo kiev
what a fierce contest
what a mammoth crowd
what a beautiful playground
what a heart-breath taking show of support
so many songs
so many slogans
wembley
you are splendid

Notes

I wrote this poem when a friend Dr. Mark Dinin invited me to Wembley Stadium. I was overwhelmed by the crowd for I have never seen soccer crowd like that before. The poem is therefore dedicated to my friend Mark.
