We’re Still In With A Shout!

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 We’re hanging on by the skin of our teeth
To the tail of the team that’s in form
All bets are off, from the tabloids I read
Our challenge looks pallid and gaunt

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Rubbish, it can’t be, there’s a long way to go
With a hatful of points to be won
We’re still in with a shout, haven’t given up hope
Like “The Boxer” in Paul Simons song

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Though the road may be long
Twist and turn may prolong
That the end could be close and exciting

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Will we win, who can say?
Just give in, not our way
So as always, we’ll carry on fighting

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 The glittering prize is still our’s at this time
The sweet essence of victory lingers
Will we just give it up, after waiting so long
Let them Manc’s, pries it out of our fingers?

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Not a hope, not in hell, will we win, who can tell?
To know now, would be dead dull and blighted
While there’s still that glimmer that we’ll run out as winners
We live in the hope, that our dreams can match Man United’s!

The stuff that great football drama’s are made of, a last minute goal for us, them losing one – nil at half – time, at home and eventually turning it around to win comfortably after the interval.

Terrific, long may it continue, till the end of the season..at least!
