What if Football Chants Were In Latin?

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 We rise as one as the chant goes up
Surge si Blackpool oderis
Singing in tongues about the FA Cup
(What mystery has come over us?)
Supporters leap, supporters dance
Ascendentes sumus
Everyone loves those Latin chants
Even the doom-and-gloomers
Nisi vincentes non cantatis
We sing as we take the lead
Et in bordello non penetratis
A strange kind of football breed
The song of the Kop brings a tear to the eye
Iter solus numquam facies
As they sway and hold their flag on high
Their Latin will truly amaze
One day I’ll wake up and find it’s a dream
Bullas semper sum ego sufflans
But if Ancient Roma had a football team
I’d love to sing along with their fans
ALTOGETHER NOW
Odi Nottingham Forest
Oderis Liverpool tu
Odi Ma-an United
Sed Romam WE LOVE YOU.
