WHAT IS TO BE BORO’S DESTINY?

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Now that Premiership safety is finally guaranteed,
This is surely not the time to be at all weak-kneed,
So, first against the Swiss; then the Toon and much later,
We must really keep our foot on the accelerator.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Today’s great result of a massive Boro poll,
Believes we can certainly make the Swiss heads roll,
With a little bit of luck and our great fire-power,
We could all witness, soon, the Boro’s finest hour.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Some Swiss fans’ “welcome” meant I almost choked,
But I beg our own fans, “do not be provoked,”
We will not resort to those obscene banners,
Please let’s just display the best of Teesside manners.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 The mountain before us isn’t quite the Eiger,
So, let’s stalk and strike like the sprightly tiger,
But the Boro, in defence, must be truly watertight,
For if the Swiss lads should score, it’ll be ‘goodnight.’

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 But that two-goal deficit can be overturned,
And it’s a great chance that, quite simply, must not be spurned,
On what will surely be for Boro, the busiest of nights,
To propel our much-loved heroes to the dizziest of heights.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 With the Riverside full and the atmosphere cracking,
I feel we can still send the Swiss lads packing,
Then the stage will be set for a real High Noon,
To see us, I am hopeful, do the very same to Toon.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 So, that’s two out of three and I’m so pent up,
For there’s still that replay in the F.A. Cup,
But I hope again that victory can finally be snatched,
By the narrowest margin, with Charlton then despatched.
