When the wife’s away BECK’S will play.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 When the wifes away Becks will play

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 They said that Becks was past it,
no more La Liga class,
only thing left in his armory,
was an occasional decent pass.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 So with his place in Real’s first team,
under the coaches cosh,
he signed for L.A Galaxy ,
for a monstrous pile of dosh…

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 The coach of Madrid was angry,
at Becks Californian dream,
and he told him in no uncertain words,
he’d no longer make his team.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Meanwhile his missus packed her bags,
and headed to L.A,
starting to set up home ,
in the City where he’d play.
.
Beckham started training hard,
and regained a lease of life,
and cynics started saying,
it was cos he wasn’t near the wife.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 He returned to the Real team,
in their quest for the La Liga,
6,000 miles from Hollywood,
and Victoria his amiga.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 Next he was recalled by England,
for the match against Brazil,
and he proved to all the critics
that he weren’t over the hill.

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 He then played in Estonia,
where he assisted on two goals,
while Victoria was in Beverley Hills,
being whisked ‘round in a Rolls.

9 Leave a comment on verse 9 0 The critics praised his football,
calling it ‘a great one man display’,
and they questioned the benefits
of him playing in L.A

10 Leave a comment on verse 10 0 But Posh had made her mind up,
that in L.A he must be seen,
and if it doesn’t work out,
they might get work – on the screen.

11 Leave a comment on verse 11 0 The moral of this poem though
is that when Becks begins his reign,
it might help his performances,
if Posh went back to Spain.

Notes

Bit tough on Posh Spice, but it does seem that David Beckham has had a new lease of football life since she headed off to California trailed by documentary teams and paparazzi.
