When Two Tribes Go To Score – RELAX!

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 For footie fans, stress can be fatal
Learn to breathe at the ante-natal
Calm down, breathe deep, and slowly exhale
Too much excitement can make your heart fail

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 The faces are strained, the knuckles are white
Knees are trembling, chests are tight
I don’t want to give you a lecture
But I don’t want to see you on a stretcher

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Anticipation intense, our springs are coiled
Blood vessels erupt as our attack is foiled
You’ll get an old dear say ‘Oh what a shame’
‘Don’t get upset, it’s only a game…’

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 aaarrgh!

Notes

Reading Kev Halls ‘My club is making me ill’ I think a lot of us have been there. Norwich City fans of a certain age remember us being a selling club, the ‘Chase Out’ demo with mounted police and broken windows in Carrow Road. Scary times and a decade of depression and despair which nearly ended in adminstration. Fast forward to now and it couldn’t be more different for us.

Football: you can live a whole crisis just in stoppage time. Why does it mean so much? It just does. Either you get it, or you don’t. If you’ve got it, there’s no cure. Chin up Kev Halls, Coventry will have their time in the sun again and the Ricoh will rock in sky-blue…
