why do I care,
why do I need
to always be there ?

and take my seat,
when I know it will end
in yet another defeat ?

to follow them away,
when their performance
will have ruined my day ?

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Why buy a season ticket
when money is tight,
when the players you watch
have no passion or fight ?

when all I do is swear,
and it affects my health
and gives me grey hair ?

and worry and fret,
why do I lose money
on another silly bet ?

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 Why follow a team
who cause so much pain,
am I mentally ill
and completely insane ?

who cause me all this strife ?
that’s easy to answer really
as I’m a supporter for life !

Notes

As you all know my club is Coventry City and after being outclassed at home by Swindon last night it inspired me to write this. The weather here is dark and gloomy which is befitting my mood after watching my team get turned over yet again. But I know it will lift and in a few days my thoughts will be geared towards our next match,as us fans don’t stay down too long do we ? Why do we put ourselves through it all though we do ask at times ? One of life’s mysteries I guess, but I just found myself looking at the league tables thinking I wonder if we could still make the play offs ? I told you I might be mentally ill !
