Why bother having them?

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I hate seeing injustice
Especially in sport
And I hate seeing the obvious
And no-one being caught

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 When there’s extra policing
But it all comes to nought
Well that’s when there’s frustration
And rectitude sought

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 And when it’s just so, SO obvious
Well, you have to wonder who’s been bought
Money and its invidious ways
A corruption we must hinder and thwart

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 And when the misdemeanour
Is like a battle being fought
And all within 5 yards of sight –
When will intercession be taught?

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 And so it’s no wonder
That tensions are fraught
And we hear plaintive cries
When grievance wrought

We implore and exhort

Had to get that off my chest!

I felt like that so many times watching Chelsea in the Champions League

When the plonkers (4th & 5th officials) standing off the pitch could see so much pulling and dragging in the penalty box, especially at corners, but said and did nothing.

But for me, it came to a head last night in the Celtic v Juventus Q-F 1st leg match at Celtic Park.

How Celtic weren’t given 2 penalties for arms right around Gary Hooper?
And Captain Brown pushed to the ground?
I’m sorry, but you have to question the impartiality of the officials – either that or FIFA have to tell the general public when they re-wrote the rules on what constitutes a foul.

Disgraceful, shambolic, unethical.

Non-Decisions like that are killing the game we love.

And yes, Celtic were no angels, some of their forwards went down pretty easily at times in the box.

To be fair, the ref controlled the game well, corners excepting!
