Why Not Do As He Says, When He Says It!

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 When attacks are going no place
And defence is as Swiss cheese
And angry fans sings words that kind of grate
On a blokes…..football insecurities.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 We’ve all stood there and done it
Voiced strong words from rabid throats
Full time’s just come and you’ve been stuffed three one
We turn inflamed as one, lambast and blast the coach.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 T’would seem that the game is changing
From when our stars just kicked a ball
There’s a breed of blokes whose mindset’s
On the team, being above the selfish individual.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 The Russians certainly have it
The Turks have their fair share
And the Germans, well they’ve always had
That emphasis on teamwork, to capture silverware.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 What about the Spanish teams,
Who’ve flattered to decieve?
Blowing hot and cold, t’would seem they can’t control
Their fiery mad Latino, impetuosity.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 But a bloke stood on the touchline
With plan B, if all else fails
Need’s the midas touch that real maestro’s need
And to show a modicum of calm, if his teams to prevail.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 Total football is a thrilling sight
As everybody knows
It’s only English blokes who lump it in to the night
Frightening punters sat in rows.

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 I wish now that Guus had plumped for us
When job interviews came calling
An England team with panache and thrust
With Hiddink in charge, would most certainly be enthralling!

Notes

I’ve not seen a lot of the Euro games, but the ones that I’ve seen and enjoyed have all been about the team..ethic. Are we returning to the days when teams did as the coach told them to do and reaped the benefits, instead of selfish individuals intent on personal glory and rave reviews that have nothing to do with being part of a team?
