World Cup 1974

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Where Mexico had stuttered through a sad, disjointed mess,
The Germans really took the ball and ran.
The tournament became a most remarkable success
With every facet going quite to plan.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Logistically, it went off as they always hoped it would,
They put on a remarkable display
Efficiency, communication, everything was good,
And organised in such an ordered way.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 The Final was the showcase, of that there was no doubt,
The planning would ensure that all was right,
But as the two teams limbered up, somebody pointed out
There was not a single corner flag in sight.
