Wow! What An Ending.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I’d just switched on the highlights
To catch manic minutes at the death
Where them Toffee’s and The Villa got me so excited
That I struggled to grasp breath.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 First the pendulum swung one way
With a fatally lax back pass
Then Everton aided by the hand of fate
Thought they’d levelled it last gasp.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 “Leather it in to the stands”, the coaches say
“When there’s only minutes left”
As The Villa, in injury time added on to play,
Stuck the sweetest of all winners, inside the Toffee’s net.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 David Moyes was going absolutely mental,
On the touchline, at his team
Martin O’Neill as always played the gentleman
And praised his bright young steeds.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 A great advert for the Premiership?
Absolutely, without a doubt
As me heartbeat slowly receded
Back to normality and I flopped down on the couch!

Everton v The Villa at Goodison yesterday. What a cracking ending.

Made up of the quite unbelievable stuff that stories from the comics used to give us, as football fans.

Only this was reality, sweet or sour, depending on whom you support.

An absolutely blinding finale, fit to grace any game .
