You Heard It Here First!

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 T’was a cold one, last night in West London
As we walked from the ground to the tube
We chatted to him with the tache from the tellly
Though just now, his top lip’s kinda smooth

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 “What did you think of the Graham Poll show”?
I asked him this question in jest
He smiled, shrugged his shoulders
Like most of us there, he seemed totally bemused, unimpressed

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 “An egomanaic, who had lost all control
Of the match” I said in a voice laced with ire
He smiled as he offered us solace of sorts
“There’s a rumour he’s about to retire”

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Shout it out high from the rooftops
Print it in all programme notes
That Graham Poll is getting the chop
Or about to retire, whatever, just get rid of that joke!

Notes

A true story, this. You’ve heard it here first, I don’t want to name drop but….we were walking with and chatting to this lovely bloke, as we left the Chelsea ground, who told us this great news that really made our evening.

I don’t want to go on about Poll’s performance in the match last night, because every fan in the country must have a story to tell about this joke of a referee. He’ll be ever so sorely missed, when he goes, yeah right….like toothache?
