You Need Hands

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Before the match we
tried to imagine
what the handshake
would be like:
A quick, perfunctory
pump perhaps or
maybe no more than
a fleeting touch?
Eyes of both likely
to be elsewhere.
What we would never
have predicted, though
was that Suarez would
choose to ignore a man
he had wronged already.
Evra’s olive branch severed
before it had even had a
chance to be extended.
Suarez’ puerile preening
rightly condemned.

Notes

What was going through the Liverpool man’s mind as the players lined up to shake hands? And these people are supposed to be role models…..
