You Will Never Walk Alone.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Fear not for the mighty
have fallen to rise again.
For we learn when we lose
to be stronger next time.
There is honour in defeat
if you have played your part.
For winning will be all that sweeter
when you reach the top once more.
You can only strive to do your best
in what ever you do with your life.
Rewards will only give happiness
if they are gained by you on merit.
It is far better to lead than be led
the path you take is then yours alone.
Never be afraid to ask for advice
for wisdom takes a lifetime to learn.
If you give and ask for no return
the reward will be your satisfaction.
So set an example with your life
and you will never walk alone.

Notes

I wrote this poem after seeing Steve Gerrard coming off the pitch after Liverpools defeat against Inter Milan in the Champions League Final. His determined look said, “We will be back.” I sent Steve a copy.
