You’ll never win nothing with kids

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Shelbourne 2 Kildare County 2

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Oh you’ll never win nothing with kids,
The wily old pundit avowed.
When the fat’s in the fire
And you’re clutching at threads,
To get out of the mire,
You need old, wiser heads,
Experience shines from the crowd,
The wily old pundit avowed.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 No you’ll never win nothing with kids,
The experts in chorus declared.
Though they’ll fight to the death
To the fans’ raucous cheers,
They won’t run out of breath
But run out of ideas,
For leadership must be prepared,
The experts in chorus declared.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Oh you’ll never win nothing with kids,
The analyst said on the box.
I would not dismiss youth,
It is not a bad flaw,
But the fact is, in truth,
They’ve not been there before,
Oh wind their biological clocks,
The analyst said on the box.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Well we put out a team full of kids
And they won universal respect.
They were primed for a fall
And a beating was due,
But they won every ball
And they won our hearts too,
The old age is washed up and wrecked,
For they won universal respect.

Notes

First game of the season. Our right back looks about 12. Kept on having to check my programme as I only knew 2 of the players.
Still, we have a team, albeit in the First Division
