Zzzzzzz’s.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Gustavo’s a real revelation
A card and a well informed wit
No rehearsed or clichéd observations
On the artistry out on the pitch.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Two nodding dog pals seemed in envy
Of a natural for next years World Cup
Should the Beeb seek a new doyen in punditry
May I suggest that Gustavo’s signed up?

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 And why weren’t the Spanish team singing
Is their anthem a pure instrumental?
Even when Uruguay’s hymn was beginning
Team and fans became well sentimental.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 That Spanish game now seems so boring
My poor eyes required matches to watch
At two nil I couldn’t stop yawning
As I longed for at least a late tackle or strop.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 I fell asleep listening to Jonathan
Drool on the intricate passing of Spain
Whilst alongside him the dry wit of Lawrenson
Wore a sensible shirt for a change.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 I awakened at 85 minutes
As Uruguay bared all their teeth in attack
A free kick, and a goal added bite to the finish
Then more zzzzzzz’s sound the end of the match!

Notes

A true story. Are Spain becoming dare I say it…boring?

Carefree…braised in Celery.

Go well and be lucky.

Peace.

Kev.
