It’s always nice to get positive feedback on poems posted here.
The Editors today received the following e-mail :
JOHN BONNAR (EX CELTIC GOALKEEPER} WAS MY FATHER
MY HUSBAND FOUND THE POEM IN MEMORY OF MY DAD ON YOUR WEBSITE
WE WERE ALL TOUCHED BY THE POEM.
IT WAS VERY BEAUTIFUL, MY MOTHER WILL BE DELIGHTED WHEN I SHOW HER.
THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS
CAROLINE JOHNSTON NE BONNAR
Caroline is referring to one of Danny’s poems, reproduced here :
into heaven walks another Celtic soul,
who once graced the line of Parkhead’s goal,
as Jock Stein waits with Celts of old,
the steps to heaven are paved green, white & gold.
