A Tear from Bill Shankly’s Eye

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Bill Shankly he stepped down from heaven one day
And he walked with the disciples through the Paisley Gateway
They came from the town that had given them birth
Wrapped up in the flags of their history and faith

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Now Shankly he gazed on the form of Stevie G
In his deeds for the Reds the great man was pleased
For this lad had brought pride to the Liverpool soul
Just like St Michael with each of his goals

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 There were songs for Joe Fagan and songs for Dalglish
There were songs for those miracles, Rushies grand feet
And when they all joined together for You’ll Never Walk Alone
A tear fell from Shanks eye for he knew he was home.
