Christmas
With its myriad promises of wishes wished
Promises promised and dreams alive and kicking
The date the time the place the same
The wrapping paper’s all that changed
The same old Christmas
Year in year out the ebb and flow of life
Of life to be

Christmas
The great divide between what I want
And what I am about to receive
But it’s Christmas I hear them plead
It’s not about you and me but us and we
The same old Christmas
Year in year out the ebb and flow of life
Of life to be

Christmas
Love and Peace the holy grail
Were the Child is Father to the Man
But really we’re all just part of life’s
Great Universal Football Team
The same old Christmas
Year in year out the ebb and flow of life
Of life to be.
