Deja Vu?

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 To be honest we did not play well
But were the other team that much better?
Did that moment of madness
That left us one lad less
Make us strong and pull together?

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Owen Hargreaves was a revelation
Young Aaron Lennon a rising star
But once again did we come undone
By thoughts of a bridge too far?

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Did that sly wink to the bench
Reveal our achilles heel
That Big Phil and co had found
Or was it just cunning bravado from one so young
Who easily goes to ground?

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 We did all of the attacking
But they had most, the ball
But which coach was the most relieved
And which team gave their all?

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 “Penalties is a lottery”
Says Lineker with that stupid smarmy grin
A lottery it may well be
We keep buying a ticket that gets us in to it
But we never seem to win!

It’s obviously no consolation, but I thought we were the only team who wanted and were looking to win the game without the aid of a shoot out, albeit with ten men.

But it’s just Deja Vu…again!
