Dying?

So the Millers from Rotherham
may be no more;
what a sad indictment of
our national game.
A microcosm of society:
the rich get richer
whilst the poor get poorer.
Chelsea’s millions mere drops
in the ocean,
loose change in the pockets
of a Russian billionaire.
Millers haemorrhaging money
so fast the well is running dry.
Over a hundred years
of history slipping
through the fingers
of locals who live,
breathe and bleed Rotherham.
All genuine football fans
hoping, praying they survive;
once the dam breaks
cracks could appear everywhere –
could be our turn next.
