I’m Sure….

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 The lads are well aware
Our chance is slim out there
We’re under no illusions from the start
So let’s give it our best shot
Giving everything we’ve got
With passion, pride, commitment and stout heart.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Though we go where none have gone
And the road we trudge is long
Carrying the hopes of the punter in the street
Who whatever the result
Will cheer us and exult
In adulation just as long as we compete.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Our country is in the mire
Things are looking dire
Us natives need a spark to lift the soul
So come on lads perform
Give us something to applaud
Together we’ll make runs toward their goal.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Can we win it? Who can say?
Will the other teams we play
Scare us with their nous and strong defence
Not one moment will we falter?
Stood together we’ll be awesome
Till The Germans come, then its High Noon once again!

I’ve not actually mentioned a specific team in me piece as I’m a R.o.I and Ingerland fan. So unless they meet en route to the final. Yes I’m that optimistic! I’ve two teams to shout for, and shout for them both I blimmin well will, at the top of me voice as I love the European Championships big time!

Go well and be lucky.

To John O’Connor, en route to Poznan in a camper van with his mates to cheer on the Irish team. Be sure to enjoy the craic bhoy.
