Once More

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 There was nothing really wrong with the coach we had last season
And I was sure disgusted when he was shafted without reason
Who would ”they” replace him with? Experience or a pup?
They only went and picked the guy we’d beaten in the cup

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 So Mathews got the gig, we didn’t know what to expect
From us he had a clean slate, with glory to confect
Sullivan, Mulcahy signed, time was of the essence
O’Callaghan came crawling back, such nauseous acquiescence

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Dave “Derek” Mooney followed too, a decent acquisition
A few young pups and older heads, confirmed the clubs ambition
Our squad was now a decent one, competition would be rife
Squeezed in a Cockney Rebel too, to give nostalgics life

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Firstly Bray were at the Cross, we’ll surely beat them handy
Unfortunately we lacked a decent modus operandi
Chances few and far between, we lacked that killer punch
Still a long long road ahead, til things come to the crunch

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 With a number of new players it’ll take some time to gel
But would our final stop be up in heaven? Down at hell?
Of all the pieces on the park, midfield’s the crucial bit
A jigsaw of such quality, will Alan make them fit?

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 First name down is Gamble , shows intensity and hunger
Mathews even said he is the Cork version of Dunga
Liams rehab hurt us too, were firm but never hateful,
Now he’s reaping the rewards, we know he’s truly grateful

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 Colin and George are left of right, the centre their preferred
Right wing can be a lonely place, theatre of the absurd
Despite full time approaches from the little troll patrol
My preference is for Healy with their Georgie in the hole

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 Despite last season Behans , I’d have Joffy first up front
Hopefully come seasons end we’ll be up there in the hunt
Mooney will deliver, with more service and physique
He’ll soon be spinning cart wheels, with us on a winning streak

A new season and a new manager with some new players, we are spoiled with midfield talent and so far have struggled to make them fit.
4 games in 4 draws.

Behans – last seasons word for goals.
