The War Cry (Bricks and Confetti)

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Pompey vs Burnley in a bygone era
train cost sixpence
takes a football fans persona
scarf confetti and innocence
naïve- a southern fairy
kicks off paper floats
flies, wow such a spectacle
we score, half-a-bricks
thrown by a claret and blue
testicle, scars beastly
war spills like Ypres
and medieval Mongolia
sanity, lost it until now
Ghengis Khans mentality
Premiership Pompey the tyranny
all domination
a revenge by me- I’m ready
Pompey vs Manchester City- close
it’s all in Lancashire
arrive wearing specially engraved
blue and white helmet
British army standard issue
like the ones in Basra
cheeks of face black with shoe polish
smells strange
must be the shoe polish
two bags
10 breeze blocks
arms bulging
knuckle dusters- negative
oh well
all good practice-
Scummers third round FA cup
can’t wait for that ruck…
Get off train smiling- arrested
bereft of dignity
off the pitch violence,
the blood
the sweat
the sweet revenge
it passed me by
off the pitch cease fire
Facists have gone
all
eating prawn sandwiches-
but I ain’t- shoe polish ready
IT’S READY
for the Southampton SCUM!
