When Your Mojo’s Back ~ England 4-0 Netherlands
when it clicks you lose the fear
all those doubts just disappear
let’s just mark it as a scare
when your mojo’s back
scintillating on the ball
pressing high and standing tall
so together one and all
and our mojo’s back
just ignore what they all say
blow those cobwebs right away
singing Caroline all day
when your mojo’s back
Lionesses roar once more
we all know there’s so much more
this is what we came here for
and our mojo’s back
Stanway Russo Hemp and James
hard to just pick out one name
Hampton Bronze all on their game
now our mojo’s back
Wiliamson’s over the moon
Greenwood Carter Walsh and Toone
and our mojo’s back
If This Is Our Time
nights like this are special
times like these are rare
savour ev’ry moment
when you know you’re there
you can call it fortune
who cares what they say
when that moment happens
failure falls away
and if this is really it
if this is our time
we’ll remember where we were
til the day we die
we’ll remember words we cried
in our silly way
just like when the Beatles sang
Things We Said Today
high upon this hillside
minutes seem to fly
suddenly it hits you
like in years gone by
all those days we came so close
all those times before
disappear and fade away
when at last you score
looking on in disbelief
through the tears and smiles
memories come flooding back
when you were a child
time to stop and pinch yourself
as you watch the game
what is it that moves us
in this way the same?
and if this is really it
if this is our time
we’ll remember where we were
til the day we die
we’ll remember words we cried
in our silly way
just like when the Beatles sang

Hi Crispin,
Thanks for the featured poem for the Arsenal Premier League victory. I love that photo showing the Arsenal ladies and fans in full rattle and rosette mode. I’ve seen it before quite a few times and, I think, a bit iconic. I think it was before the Gunners victory against Liverpool in the 1950 FA Cup Final. Great photograph.
Thanks
Joe

Thanks for that Joe. Yes it’s been some season we had a blip but came out of it and finished strong. A mate of mine supports West Ham here in Coventry and my next door neighbour is a Spurs supporter, and both are getting edgy ! I like the Championship though as it’s competitive and has some good teams, players, and fans. Anyway we are back in the top flight and who knows what will happen ?
Cheers. Kev.
