Notes

How disgraceful of the team and manager not to all admit how rubbish we were and apologise..Egos! Kneeling on the grass and applauding the fans for the money, time and incredible overwhelming support and perhaps throwing all their kit to them.would have been a gesture.

And please don’t give us… ‘tired’. What about that epic Isner v Mahut 11 hour tennis performance and every country plays loads of football and don’t get me started on FIFA and goal-line technology.

This poem inspired by hearing Dennis Just Dennis – a great live poet/football fan (check out his Sunday Sunday poem on this site) and his brilliant political Alphabet poem/rant. I performed and compered again with Dennis at Glastonbury this weekend on the Fluffy Rock Café Stage.

One last addition to the many things Stevie Wonder brilliantly labelled ‘unacceptable’ last night in his uplifting finalé on the main stage.. THE ENGLAND FOOTBALL TEAM. Come on Ghana..do it for Africa.
