End of season prayer

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Oh Lord, as we complete this two-horse race,
the football season barely six months old,
deliver us, we pray, from this dark place.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 We kneel before your majesty and grace,
looking for a way back in the fold
as we, oh Lord, complete this two-horse race.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Longford folk are scurrilous and base –
wickedness abounds and men are bold.
Deliver us, not them, from this dark place.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Oh, guide us through the perils that we face.
Let refs be kind and wingers rubber-soled,
dear Lord, as we complete this two-horse race.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Let our opponents curse the lack of space,
and let our breakaways be more controlled
and please deliver us from this dark place.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Yes, let our wingers never lack for pace
and let our forwards win promotion gold.
Dear Lord, please help us win this two-horse race
and deliver us, we pray, from this dark place.

Notes
