Around a Christmas table a family sit.
In the background a festive tree brightly lit.
A time for reflection, fond memories to share.
Time to say a little Christmas prayer.

Prayers have been said many times before.
And God will hear them many times more.
And though around that table I have no place.
I add my payers too and I offer my grace.

And today every decent scouser, red or blue.
Will put a quiet moment aside, just for you.
Every Hillsborough victim who was taken away.
Will be in our thoughts on Christmas Day.
