Up the Town

Up the Town called out the crowd,
Two years ago you did us proud,
We were climbing the Premier League,
So what’s the last thing this club needs?
Some biggish names with bigger pay,
I bet the board will rue the day
They signed Sereni and Finidi George,
Who did ‘naff all’ to help our cause.
Poor results, relegation loomed.
Sheepshanks thinks ‘ My god, we’re doomed.

Up the Town called out the crowd,
Now standing ‘neath a big black cloud
Amid the depression of the Nationwide.
Already the team have started to slide
Despite the players staying loyal.
Then Burley was replaced by Royale,
Who’s making progress up the table,
Leading the team who are looking able
To reach the play offs – so what’s the fuss.
One minor problem – the club’s gone bust…
