Picture yourself on a field or a football pitch
With Shankly Gates rising and cold soggy pies
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly
A Liverbird with Kaleidoscope eyes.

Cellophane footballers of red and white
Towering over your head
Look for the play with number 10 on his back
And he’s gone.

Where Liverpool fans sit eating those cold soggy pies
Everyone chants as he strikes the white football
Watching in slow motion as it flies.

Chip shop paper buses appear at the gates
Waiting to take you away
Climb on board with your buzzing head
And you’re gone.
