They came to the reebok and rode out their luck
Morecambe so wise as the wanderers came unstuck
The shrimps parked the bus right in front of our goal
And prevented our players from scoring a shoal.

Chance after chance there seemed no way though
It was going to be one of those games, and we all knew
We’ll have ninety percent of play then concede
We must learn that in football three points is not guaranteed.

But fair doo’s to Morecambe they came with a plan
Let Bolton do the pressing and catch them when they can
But a backpass from Johnson left our keeper high and dry
One nill to the shrimps, time for the Bolton battle cry.

Surely we’ll score by playing more of the same?
But nothing is a gimme in this funny old game
A stoppage time equaliser but our fans will bemoan
This could be the game where our play off hopes are blown.
