Midweek, mid-table, midway between hope and despair…
to put your fans through this torment is hardly very fair

And then, as Half Time looms on this freezing cold night,
we follow the throng to the smell and the light
¶ 3

of the fast food, fat-food, fad-food stand,
dishing out alsatian burgers and semi-hot dogs upon demand,
¶ 4

but, as if the football wasn’t grim enough to take,
we have to put up with flat pop and stone cold fries,
horse-sausage rolls and meat laughingly called steak-
and have you seen the bloody price of the bloody pies?!
