Train driver turned teacher Stuart has played for Swindon Boys in football and rugby and played competitive football in the Swindon League.

A self confessed “wizard of the dribble, feint and body swerve” he is also a seasoned stage performer, variously described as “****ing brilliant”, “very mad” and “this man’s a genius”.

He founded Stroud Football Poet with Dennis Gould in 1995 after trying to get Dennis to perform his football poems. Stuart was told to write his own first – which he did.

Stuart is working on a play by the tramp poet W. H. Davis who lived near Stroud.
