Ground Hopping 2022-23

I scanned my ticket at Selhurst Park,
cranked through the turnstiles
and heard the steward ask,
How many games have you seen this season?
Well, I said,

I’ve been everywhere, man.
I’ve been everywhere, man.
Crossed the city square, man.
I’ve breathed the country air, man.
Of travel I’ve had my share, man.
I’ve been everywhere.

I’ve been to
Birmingham, Cheltenham, Bath, Axminster,
Bridport, Sherborne, Wimborne I remember,
Bristol, Liverton, Salford, Dorchester,
Eastleigh, Torquay, London, Exeter,
Weymouth, Nailsworth, Yeovil, Warminster.

I’ve been everywhere, man.
I’ve been everywhere, man.
I’ve eaten burger and fries, man.
Downed lager and beers, man.
Of gambling ads I’ve had my share, man.
I’ve been everywhere.

I’ve been to
St Mary’s Field, Ashton Gate, Aston Villa,
stood on terraces and sat in stadia,
but this is no time for braggadocio
as no matter how many grounds, I know
I’ll never match Tony Incenzo.
