Anfield is open again!

Liverpool 4-0 Wolves

Once again the fans return
Anfield is on the go
Singing hard on the Kop
I spot my pal Mario

Salah swoops to score first
Coady with a lapsed header
Anfield erupts in sheer delight
Gini joins in with a cracker

Kelleher solid on his debut
Matip makes it three nil
Semedo beats Mane to it
To send the Reds over the hill

Reds go second

Liverpool 2-1 Sheffield United

Fabinho took the centre back slot
Conceding an early penalty
Sander Berge after a VAR review
Foul on Oliver McBurnie

It’s all square by Firmino
A few minutes before the chime
After Mane’s shot is saved
Four minutes before half-time

Blades stay second from bottom
Reds ease into second place
Jota’s completes a comeback
Just behind Everton in the race

New boy Jota seals debut win

Liverpool 2-1 Arsenal

In the week of a double header
One team will pay the price
Today it’s the Gunners
Who’ll be visiting Anfield twice

When Robbo commits an error
One so very rare
It’s one nil to the Arsenal
Lacazette with the flair

Mane scores for the champions
Trent and Robbo with the spark
Diogo is given his Anfield debut
Now Jota is off the mark

Season 20/21 – Champions are off with a thriller

Liverpool 4-3 Leeds

Mo Salah with a hat trick
This game needed a killer
Liverpool finally sink Leeds
In an opening day Anfield thriller

Salah on the opening day
For the fourth season in a row
Leeds levelled three times
They’ve been sixteen years below

“Leeds are special,” said Klopp.
“The way they play is uncomfortable.
“If you don’t respect the opponent
“They will kill you!”

Champions wrap up historic season

Newcastle 1-3 Liverpool

Steve Bruce will breath easy
We were kind to the big Geordie
Rapier like seeking 99 points
It’s the biggest in our history

We even had a party pooper
Dwight Gayle after half a minute
26 seconds, Virg and Origi hit back
They just don’t know when to quit

Champions League and then the Title
Matching the 1981 vintage side
Mane rounds it off for 3-1
We may never ever witness such a ride

Anfield thriller as Champions lift trophy

Liverpool 5-3 Chelsea

Virgil leads out the champions
Naby lashes one with thunder
Kepa is firmly rooted
Trent bends the right corner

Three seasons unbeaten at home
Tonight Gini boosts the attack
Three to one before half time
Giroud leads the fightback

At last Bobby has his Anfield goal
Great play for a Tammy tap in
Pulisic a star in the making
Ox seals a thriller on the spin

With King Kenny looking on
Amidst the joyous kerfuffle
He bought the Wearsider to Merseyside
Behold the Hendo shuffle

Gunners dish the capital punishment

Arsenal 2-1 Liverpool

“Is Yours Gold?” one read
We actually got trolled
“Anfield 89”
Boy the Arsenal are bold

Though honed at Brisbane Road
Klopp’s backline stutters
Two shots, two goals
That’s all that really matters

Champs trained at Leyton Orient
Mane again the guy
On a rare off night
Lacazette and Nelson reply

Seagulls host thirtieth win

Brighton 1-3 Liverpool

Risky when you don’t change
When Liverpool press high
Ball lost on the edge of the box
Watch Mo Salah apply

He’ll stick to his principles
Graham Potter won’t quit
Sweet right foot rocket
Hendo in the eight minute

For Trossard’s neat finish
No one could complain
Salah’s near post header
Stamps thirty wins this campaign

Reds see off gutsy Villa

Liverpool 2-0 Aston Villa

Jurgen’s not interested in records
But at Anfield he’s still a killer
17 wins, 17 home games
His Reds sweep past the Villa

Alisson parries El Ghazi’s shot
Villa graft to beat a loss
Looked good too for a precious point
Until Mane lashed in Keita’s cross

Toe to toe with the champions
Smith’s men played with soul
Until Curtis Jones with a new deal
Volleyed his first top flight goal

The Walk

Inspired by “The Wind” by RLS Robert Louis Stevenson
& by the anthem of Gerry & The Pacemakers

I saw you tear apart each team
To keep alive your burning dream;
And all around I heard such praise
In your quest for more glory days;

You’ll Never Walk “allein” – align
The Kop all together – cloud nine

I saw the different things you did
To keep alive your title bid;
You kept in form, you kept it tight
Attacked and fought with all your might;

You’ll Never Walk “allein” – align
The Kop all together – cloud nine

And so to you the spoils all told
You were too good, you wouldn’t fold;
Joining Jurgen in joyful schnapps
We can but bow and doff our caps!

You’ll Never Walk “allein” – align
The Klopp all together – cloud nine
