5am Daddy? Why so early?
Kids not knowing, faces surly
My taxi driver, never fickle
some might call him Travis Bickle

“The airport please” was my sole plea
He retorted with “You talkin ta me?”
Short flight later, eagle had landed
Straight into the pool the children demanded

The sun, the sand, the walks at noon,
The 2 hour naps that end too soon
No worries with work, trouble or strife
Happily eschewing “Ah this is the life!”

I know this life won`t last forever
Another week of such endeavour
Come Friday i´ll be on that plane
For Wexford Youths and pouring rain
