A Game of Two Penalties

City’s Ball should not have stood
on tricky Ronaldo taking the Michael.
A stamp not collected by the referee
would surely have been swapped for a red
card if he’d seen it like that wrong-footed stop.

No goal for the blue blues at home
since New Year’s Day. A City fan ran on
to the green baize, looking rather slated.
More than 40,000 scarves on seats.
And if to win is the appropriate verb,
then Ball won a penalty chance
that the ref maybe thought was a stonewall.
