Benny for Your Thoughts

There was a young ‘keeper named Alf,
Who guarded the goal for his school,
Not as well as he should,
‘Cause Alf wasn’t much good,
Being too fond of playing the fool…
But confronted by hostile guns blazing
About poor goalkeeping displays,
With a joke or a quip
Alf would scuttle their ship,
In his most disarming of ways…
For God gave a gift of mischievous mirth,
That far outstripped Alf’s soccer skill,
And the lad’s destiny
Was to grow up to be..
Inimitable Benny Hill!!!
