Bonfire

It doesn’t have to be November; it doesn’t have to be Bonfire Night.
It can be nothing to do with Guy Fawkes or his brave political fight.
Let’s build our own bonfire with a purpose and plot of a different kind.
A bonfire we’ll stack with corruption and all the lies that we can find.

A bonfire built to be rid of injustice, let’s watch it all go up in smoke.
Injustice is the reason that many hearts after Hillsborough broke.
Let’s build a bonfire in remembrance, in all of the victims’ names.
We owe it to all concerned to ensure that corruption goes up in flames.

This bonfire we can build at anytime and put all the liars on the top.
A bonfire lit by scousers with the message that our fight will never stop.
And when this fire is finally reduced to nothing more than ashes and dust.
I hope that corruption lies amongst its embers and in people again I can
trust.
