At school in the Sixties
We all called you Albert,
A boy who was destined for fame,
And on bright Monday mornings
Announcing a victory
The Headmaster read out your name.

So Preston schooled you
And Liverpool taught you
Then Bill Shankly made you a man.
Hall and Steve Heighway
Two graduates in grafting
At the heart of the Liverpool plan

But one grey Monday morning
I learned of your passing
Brian Hall, a Liverpudlian true.
A hero of the Seventies
Yet you died in your Sixties
Brian Hall, we remember you.
