That I remember when
Stockport County won the FA Cup
And that they did it with ten men

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 3rd round at ‘home’ against Liverpool
Alan Ogley kept a clean sheet
And Mickey Flynn was just awesome
As the mighty ‘reds’ were beat

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Against Villa in the fourth round
Stuart Lee was in full flight
Marsden & Bennett ran midfield
As the ‘Villains’ sank without a fight

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 The fifth round against Champions United
We didn’t fancy our chances
But we won with two from Mickey Quinn
And two more from Kevin Francis

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 In the quarters we beat Chelsea
(Third time on the trot been drawn away)
We went ahead through Terry Park
Jimbo & Foggy then kept the ‘blues’ at bay

For the hardest tie we’d had
But we beat Arsenal three two in extra-time
Thanks to a hat trick from Les Bradd

We beat ‘Boro’, yet another team in red
Two goals from Jackie Connor
Meant Matt Woods lifted the cup above his head

Tried once again to make us sick
By sending off our keeper
For three times saving a last minute penalty kick

But whilst my club is in ‘administration’
I’ve been thinking of players and times gone by
Which has led to this confabulation
